In Zolochiv, an official of the district consumer union is accused of unauthorised occupation of a land plot designated for historical and cultural purposes and of constructing a funeral facility on it without the necessary permits. This was reported by the Zolochiv District Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, the official unlawfully occupied a municipally owned land plot within the historical area of Zolochiv. This plot does not have a cadastral number and had not been allocated to anyone for use.
Without title documents for the land and without building permits, he arranged for the construction of a memorial house with an extension, with a total area of 112 sq m. The premises were intended to be used for providing paid funeral services, in particular for holding farewell ceremonies for the deceased.
The facility did not have time to start operating, as the official's unlawful actions were uncovered by law enforcement agencies. The indictment under Part 4 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been submitted to the court.
The pre-trial investigation in this criminal proceeding was conducted by the Zolochiv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region. Pursuant to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a guilty verdict of a court.
