An official from a local council in Stryi District is suspected of abusing his official position, which resulted in significant losses.
According to the investigation, during the implementation of the “National Resistance Measures Program for 2023,” the official initiated the procurement of quadcopters from a ‘preferred’ supplier. In October 2023, a purchase was made for a total amount of 7.3 million UAH, with the cost of drones significantly exceeding the market price.
Specifically, 16 DJI Mavic 3T quadcopters were purchased at 292,000 UAH each, while their market price was 228,000 UAH. Also, 20 DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo quadcopters were bought at 134,000 UAH each, with a market price of less than 110,000 UAH.
**As a result, the territorial community suffered losses amounting to more than 1.5 million UAH.** The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the investigative department of Lviv RUP No.1 of the GU NP in Lviv region, with operational support from the Cybercrime Counteraction Department in Lviv region of the Cyberpolice Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court sentence.
