Police in Lviv region exposed a local council official for inflating the cost of drones for the Armed Forces.
The official intentionally inflated the expected cost of quadcopters, resulting in property damage to the local council. In compliance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Foundations of National Resistance’, the 36-year-old official prepared a document regarding the expected cost of the purchase. This document became the basis for signing a contract worth about 8 million hryvnias.
As the police discovered, the document contained a deliberately inflated cost of the drones. As a result, property damage of more than 1.5 million hryvnias was caused to the local council. *The suspect has been notified of suspicion and faces up to 6 years in prison.*
