The deputy head of the district territorial recruitment and social support center in Ternopil Region is suspected of bribery.
According to the investigation, the official demanded 3,000 US dollars to resolve an issue regarding the registration of a reservist. He promised to update military registration documents and remove them from the wanted list for this amount.
The serviceman was detained after receiving the funds, and he has been charged with receiving undue advantage, reports the Ternopil Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.
The court has chosen a preventive measure: detention with the possibility of bail over 266,000 UAH. The lieutenant colonel faces 5 to 10 years of imprisonment.
