In Lviv region, an official from the regional branch of JSC ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’ is accused of official negligence that resulted in significant losses.
According to the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, in August last year, the procurement service organized the purchase of 650 tons of coal without proper price analysis. As a result, a contract was concluded at inflated prices – over 11 thousand UAH per ton, while the market cost did not exceed 6.5 thousand UAH per ton.
This led to losses for ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’ of almost 3 million UAH. The investigation is being conducted by the Investigative Department of the National Police of Lviv Region, as well as the Security Service of Ukraine.
Important: According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person cannot be found guilty until proven by a court.
