Fire in Kohuty Threatened Residential Homes

The fire in Yavoriv region was alarming in its danger, as flames destroyed a wooden structure and threatened residential homes in the village of Kohuty. This was reported on Facebook.

On 13 March at 14:50, the Rescue Service received a call about the danger. Firefighters from Novoyavorivsk and Ivano-Frankove swiftly arrived at the scene. Upon their arrival, the flames had engulfed dry grass and bushes over an area of approximately 600 square metres, as well as a wooden building that was already fully ablaze.

There was a clear threat that the fire could spread through the dry vegetation to residential homes. By 15:24, firefighters managed to localise the fire, and by 16:34, they had completely extinguished it.

Eight rescuers and two units of specialised equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. This situation demonstrates how a single spark in dry grass can lead to an uncontrolled danger, threatening human life and property.
