A fire broke out in Lviv due to a scooter battery ignition, injuring three people.
On September 27 at 04:47, a fire was reported in an apartment on Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street. The fire started on the third floor of a ten-story residential building. The cause of the fire was the ignition of a lithium battery from an electric scooter, which was left charging overnight.
As a result of the fire, three people were injured, including two children: a girl born in 2015 suffered smoke inhalation; a boy born in 2009 suffered hand burns; and a mother born in 1980 suffered hand burns. The injured were hospitalized.
Before the arrival of the rescuers, neighbors extinguished the fire using extinguishers. Rescuers once again remind: “Charge batteries only in well-ventilated areas, on non-flammable surfaces. Do not use damaged or suspicious charging devices. Do not leave the charger on overnight or unattended. Always have a working fire extinguisher at home. Protect yourself and your loved ones – safety begins with responsibility!”
