The criminal, who promised to produce fictitious documents about unfitness for military service for a significant reward, was detained
As the employees of the Migration Police Department of Lviv Oblast together with investigators of the Chervonograd District Police Department and border guards established, under the procedural guidance of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor’s Office, a 36-year-old resident of Lviv District helped “evaders” to leave the country. For $8,000, the perpetrator promised men of conscription age to produce a temporary conscript certificate and a certificate from the military medical commission on unfitness for military service, which is the basis for evading mobilization into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and unimpeded crossing of the state border of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator on July 28 in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine while she was receiving part of the funds.
The issue of notifying a detainee of suspicion of committing a crime, provided for in Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, is being resolved. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee.
