Anyone who has information that will help identify the driver responsible for hitting a pedestrian that happened today, October 23, around 00:30 on the Lviv-Krakowets highway near the city of Yavoriv, as well as find the car that was hit, is asked to report to the emergency line 102.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, an unknown driver, driving an unidentified car, hit a pedestrian, a 46-year-old resident of Yavorov. As a result of the collision, the man received injuries from which he died at the scene. The driver fled from the scene of the accident.
According to the fact, the investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are taking all measures to search for the car that was involved in the collision and establish the identity of the fleeing driver.
