The perpetrator was exposed by operatives of the Drug Crime Control Department in the Lviv region together with investigators of police department No. 1 of Lviv district police department No. 2, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office.
Law enforcement officers documented the sale of narcotic substances by a 24-year-old resident of Lviv and arrested him on April 18 in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on one of the streets of the city.
The attacker had with him a package with a substance similar to the narcotic drug “cannabis”, weighing about 250 grams. The law enforcement officers seized the substance and sent it for expert examination.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainee of suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the law enforcement officers are establishing the channels of entry of the narcotic substance to the suspect. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
