Representatives of the Lviv City Council were not allowed to enter the building where the collapse occurred recently

The representatives of the city were not allowed to the construction site on Voloska Street, where the formwork (structure for pouring the partition) recently fell and workers were injured. This was announced by the deputy mayor for urban planning, Lyubomyr Zubach.

This was reported in the LMR.

“According to the mayor’s instructions, to talk about security and get answers to questions from the primary source, we organized a working visit to the place. But they ran into a strange and artificial resistance. When representatives of the city government, together with the city inspection of the State Construction Control Board, are met by lawyers and in the end are not allowed on the site for a working visit, questions arise,” said Lyubomyr Zubach.

The official also emphasized that residents have already sent many complaints about this construction to the city council. People have many concerns about the safety of the structure: a crane and concrete blocks hang over a pedestrian crossing across a busy street outside the construction site.

“Currently, neither the city DABI can carry out an official inspection regarding compliance with the project and building regulations, nor the State Labor Service Department regarding the operation of cranes – this is their competence. Because the government has stopped any measures of state control during martial law.

And we still do not have the signed law No. 5655. If suddenly it is signed, then the construction control will be carried out by private companies. Then there will be no need to hide anything,” the deputy mayor for urban planning emphasized

It will be recalled that at the end of February, the formwork for covering the floor, where a commercial and office building was being erected, collapsed at the construction site on Voloska Street. A worker was injured as a result of the collapse.
