Prosecutors of the Lviv Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Sphere of Defense in the Western Region have ensured the restoration of the rights of a Ukrainian citizen who was illegally conscripted into military service.
After media publications about the incident in the village of Sasiv in Lviv region, prosecutors quickly responded. They received a report about a man with a disability left without care after the mobilization of his only son.
Information was confirmed: the man was conscripted in violation of the law. He was the caregiver for his father, a person with Group I disability, with no other relatives available to provide care.
*Thanks to the coordinated actions* of the prosecutors, the command of the military unit, and local authorities, the issue of the man’s release was resolved promptly.
Furthermore, the prosecutor’s office initiated an official investigation into the officials of the Zolochiv District TCC and JSC. As a result, an administrative protocol was drawn up for exceeding official powers (part 2 of article 172-14 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses). The materials have been submitted to the court for consideration.
