The prosecutor has prevented the wrongful use of over 10 million UAH in Drohobych. The issue involved a contract for the reconstruction of high-pressure water supply networks made with a municipal enterprise of the Drohobych City Council. The results of the open tender led to a contract, but legal violations were discovered.
According to the prosecutor’s findings, the funding amount in the contract exceeded the budget allocations that had been planned for this purpose. This means there was no actual funding in the budget to fulfil the contract. In response, the prosecutor filed a claim in court to terminate the contract conditions.
The Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office influenced the voluntary termination of the contract by the parties prior to a court decision. Consequently, thanks to the prosecutors’ intervention, the misuse of budget funds was avoided.
