Five border guards of the Volyn detachment have been charged with organizing illegal border crossings for draft-age men.
According to the investigation, more than 120 individuals took advantage of the opportunity to leave for Poland without hindrance due to their actions. From October 2023 to January 2024, the border guards did not carry out proper document checks, which allowed for violations.
Prosecutors have appealed to the court to impose pre-trial detention. The investigation is ongoing regarding other possible participants in the scheme and the verification of versions about obtaining undue benefits.
