At the ‘Krakivets’ border crossing on the western border of Ukraine, border guard service and customs officials discovered the illegal importation of medicinal products. Two ‘Mercedes’ vehicles that arrived from Italy and Germany were subject to inspections that led to the detection of violations.
- The first incident occurred when over 500 packages of medical products containing narcotic substances, totalling more than 1.3 million hryvnia, were found in the trunk of one of the cars.
The border service forwarded the materials concerning the potential offense to law enforcement agencies for further investigation under Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and a detailed inspection of the second car was also conducted, where undeclared medical equipment was confiscated.
