In the Lviv region, a court is set to hear the case of a cadastral registrar suspected of illegally altering the boundaries of land plots. This case is significant as it pertains to the protection of citizens’ property rights.
In the autumn of 2022, law enforcement agencies discovered that the official had intervened in the automated system of the State Land Cadastre, changing plot boundaries under the guise of correcting non-existent errors.
The actions of the official attracted the attention of criminal police operatives and investigators from the Stryi District Police Department, who conducted an investigation under the guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office. Based on the collected evidence, the case was brought to court.
If convicted, the suspect could face imprisonment for three to six years and be banned from holding certain positions for three years.
