The Sambir District Prosecutor’s Office discovered a case of illegal tree logging on the territory of the forestry enterprise ‘Halsillis’. It was established that the enterprise’s employees, who were supposed to ensure forest protection, allowed unauthorized logging. An examination confirmed the destruction of 29 fir and spruce trees with a total volume of over 11 m³. This caused damage to the state, represented by the Turkivska territorial community, amounting to nearly 200,000 UAH. Prosecutors filed a lawsuit against SE ‘Forests of Ukraine’ to compensate for environmental damages. In February 2026, the court decision was executed, and the damages were fully compensated.
