The prosecutors of the Pustomitivska district prosecutor’s office sent an indictment to the court against a 20-year-old man. He is accused of fraud and unauthorized interference in the work of information (automated), electronic communication, information and communication systems, electronic communication networks (Part 3 of Article 190, Part 1 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that the man hacked the account of a 28-year-old girl on the Instagram social network. After that, on behalf of the owner of the page, he began to correspond with her friend, and asked her to lend him almost UAH 6,000 by the evening. The victim believed and sent money to the bank card of the accused.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of police department No. 1 of the Lviv district police department No. 2 of the State police department in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
