Six Traffic Accidents Involving Minors in Lviv Region in One Day

On 16 May in the Lviv region, six road traffic accidents occurred in which people were injured, including young children and minors. The police urge drivers to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic regulations. Criminal investigations have been launched or are being considered for inclusion in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations regarding these incidents.

The first accident happened at 10:40 in Sambir on Stepan Bandera Street. A 12-year-old boy sustained a leg injury as a result of a collision between a Jeep Grand Cherokee and an electric scooter.

The next incident occurred late in the evening of 15 May in the village of Verkhniy Dorozhiv. A local 15-year-old boy, unable to control his Mustang motorcycle, crashed into a concrete post. The minor sustained injuries.

Around 16:20 in Nahuyevychi, an incident involving a Renault Master and a 9-year-old cyclist resulted in the boy being hospitalised.

In Boryslav at 16:40, a 15-year-old motorcyclist on a Shineray collided with a 13-year-old girl. Both parties were injured. All circumstances of the incident are being established, and consideration is being given to launching a criminal investigation.

Another accident happened on the “Lviv – Shehyni” highway, where a 16-year-old motorcyclist on a Lifan collided with a Toyota Land Cruiser, resulting in his hospitalisation.

All these incidents are under investigation under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for imprisonment for up to eight years.
