In the Drohobych district, special patrol groups are actively working to identify offenders engaged in arson. This is particularly relevant on weekends when the number of such incidents increases. Community rescue officers conduct patrols to prevent fires in ecosystems.
As a result of one of the patrols, residents of the cities of Drohobych and Stebnyk, which are part of the Drohobych municipal territorial community, have been held administratively accountable. There is already the first arson victim of the year, who sustained burns in the village of Ulychne, Truskavets MTG.
We emphasise that burning dry grass, shrubs, rubbish, and other vegetation is prohibited. Such actions are punishable by fines: for citizens from 3,060 to 6,120 hryvnias, and for officials from 15,300 to 21,420 hryvnias.
We urge citizens to refrain from burning dry grass, as each fire causes significant environmental damage, destroying living nature and posing a threat to human life.
