The investigators reported the suspect to a Lviv man who tried to defiantly rob a passerby

The law enforcement officers remind that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum penalties are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

As the law enforcement officers established, on April 5, around 9:00 p.m., an intruder tried to rob a passer-by – a 21-year-old woman from Lviv. He attacked the victim from behind, knocked her to the ground and tried to take her mobile phone. However, the woman resisted and her husband ran to help, who caught up with the attacker and handed him over to patrol policemen who came to the call.

The investigative and operative group of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 also worked at the scene of the incident. Law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator, a 24-year-old man from Lviv, in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Today, April 6, investigators informed the detainee that he is suspected of committing a criminal offense provided for in part 3 of article 15 – part 4 of article 186 (Attempt to commit robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
