In the Ternopil region, corruption schemes related to the removal from search and the issuance of fictitious unfitness for military service have been exposed.
According to the investigation, a serviceman from one of the district territorial recruitment centers (TRC) along with a former colleague offered a man, for 20 thousand US dollars, to arrange documents about unfitness for military service in the army. According to the suspects, they were to influence colleagues who would help obtain medical certificates with a fictitious diagnosis. The suspects were caught when receiving half of the agreed amount of funds.
Another former employee of the TRC also offered to help remove a military liable person from Ternopil from the search base “Oberig.” According to him, he had arrangements with military officials and could assist in solving the man’s problem for 700 US dollars. After receiving the undue benefit, the suspect was detained.
The procedural guidance is provided by the Ternopil Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western region.
