Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office, the acting director of a state-owned enterprise was served a notice of suspicion of official negligence (Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, one of the state-owned enterprises in Lviv purchased a set of equipment for a video monitoring system at a significantly inflated price.
The acting director of the above-mentioned enterprise, improperly performing his official duties during the purchase of goods, failed to check the average market value of the equipment and entered into a supply agreement with the company.
Also, when supplying the equipment, the official failed to check its name, quantity, quality, price and did not instruct his subordinates to do so. In addition, some of the components did not match those specified in the acceptance certificates and the annex to the contract. Nevertheless, the suspect approved all the documents.
During the investigation, experts found that the cost of purchasing the equipment was overstated by almost UAH 3 million.
At the request of the prosecutor, the man was removed from his position.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
