According to the public indictment of the prosecutors of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor’s Office, the mining foreman of one of the mines of Lvivvugilya SE was found guilty of violating safety rules during the performance of work with increased danger in production, which caused the death of people (Part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 3 years in prison. He is also deprived of the right to hold positions at enterprises, institutions or organizations, or to engage in activities related to the control of the performance of works with increased danger for a period of 2 years.
Prosecutors proved in court that the mining foreman, who was in charge of the current works, committed a number of violations of the requirements of the legislation on labor protection and safety rules in mines.
As a result, in May 2019, in one of the coal mines of the Lviv Oblast, a rockfall occurred. Two miners died.
