A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Stryi region involving a minor driver without documents.
Last night, a tragedy took place on the highway near the village of Ivanivtsi in the Stryi district. **A 17-year-old resident of Zhydachiv** lost control during the overtaking of two cars. His “Mercedes” crashed into a barrier at high speed and then collided with the car in front.
As a result of the accident, a 15-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were killed. Three more passengers of the “Mercedes” sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity. All the victims are residents of Zhydachiv.
“We express our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased. This tragedy is a reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic rules,” said the procedural officer in charge of the case.
The driver has been detained under Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. He has been notified of suspicion for violating traffic safety rules that resulted in the death of several people (part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being considered.
