Under the procedural leadership of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 48-year-old citizen of Ukraine was notified of suspicion. He is accused of spreading materials with calls for changing the borders of the territory of Ukraine, treason, inciting national enmity and hatred, propaganda of war, justification, recognition of the legitimate armed aggression of the Russian Federation (Part 1 of Article 110, Part 2 of Article 111, Part 1 of Article 161, Article 436, Part 2, 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the man, while in prison, cooperated with a representative of the aggressor country. His task was to provide the latter with photographs of electrical substations in Lviv Oblast after rocket attacks, according to which it was possible to assess their condition. He tried to attract outsiders to carry out the “photo report”.
In addition, the suspect, through his own account on the banned Odnoklassniki social network, distributed anti-Ukrainian materials justifying the policies of the occupiers. In the published posts, the temporary occupation of the state’s territories was recognized as legitimate.
In the widely circulated content, the prisoner discredited the current authorities of Ukraine, disparaged the Ukrainian nation and the Armed Forces, indicating that they would be defeated in the war.
It was also stated in the published posts that Ukrainian saboteurs are killing civilians, children, and taking local residents hostage. It was noted that “Ukraine is now like Al-Qaeda.”
In addition, the person involved distributed a publication in which he called the Hero of Ukraine – Da Vinci a Nazi.
Pretrial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the SBU Office in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
