Prosecutors from the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office proved in court the guilt of a 38-year-old local resident for the appropriation of official documents and theft.
The court imposed a final sentence of 5 years and 1 month of imprisonment. It was “proven” that last August in the center of Stryi, the man found a package with documents and bank cards. Instead of returning the findings to the 54-year-old owner, he appropriated what he found.
Subsequently, the man from Stryi used these cards to make purchases in food and grocery stores, supermarkets, and alcohol markets throughout the day. In less than 7 hours, he spent almost 9,200 UAH.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Stryi RUP of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv Region. The court’s verdict becomes legally binding after the appeal period expires.
