In Stryi, the police uncovered a local resident suspected of selling drug-containing pills and “cannabis”
A 43-year-old resident of the district center faces a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to ten years with confiscation of property.
As determined by the operatives of the criminal police together with the investigators of the Stryi district police department, the perpetrator sold narcotic tablets, in particular “Subutex” and the narcotic drug “cannabis” to residents of the city of Stryi and the district.
The police documented the facts of the sale of prohibited substances to the suspect, and during an authorized search of his apartment, they discovered and seized: drug-containing pills, rolls with a substance similar to the narcotic drug “cannabis”, as well as other physical evidence of involvement in illegal activities.
Everything seized was sent to the Scientific Research Expert Forensic Center in the Lviv region for expert research. According to the experts’ conclusion, the seized substances are “Subutex” tablets, which contain the narcotic drug “buprenorphine” and the narcotic drug “cannabis”.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the perpetrator of the suspicion of criminal offenses provided for in Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, continues. The maximum punishment provided by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for a term of six to ten years with confiscation of property. Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
