An attempt to smuggle goods across the Polish border has been discovered, prompting an investigation by the prosecutor’s office.
In September, two minibuses from the Lviv region arrived at the ‘Krakovets-Korchova’ checkpoint. They chose the ‘red corridor’ for customs control. During the X-ray inspection, hidden compartments with undeclared goods were discovered. Upon realization of the exposure, one driver fled back to Ukraine at high speed. The other was detained by customs officers.
A special operation ‘Intercept’ was launched to pursue the fugitive. An hour later, the vehicle was found in the Yavoriv district. During the search, a truck was seized. In the second vehicle, 320 mobile phones and gadgets were discovered.
The Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation under part 2 of Article 201-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. *According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.*
