A tragedy occurred in Lviv: a boy born in 2008 drowned in a lake.
On July 7 at 15:51, the Rescue Service ‘101’ received a report of an incident on Volodymyra Velykoho Street. Rescuers arrived at the scene and used a boat to survey the lake. At 19:29, employees of the Lviv Central Rescue and Diving Service located and retrieved the body of the deceased teenager to the shore and handed it over to the police. Law enforcement agencies are determining the causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Lviv Region reminds:
- Swim only in specially equipped places, where lifeguards are on duty.
- Do not dive in unfamiliar places — you may get injured by the bottom or underwater obstacles.
- Do not swim far out, especially if you are unsure of your strength.
- Observe rules of behavior on boats, pedalos, etc. — always wear a life jacket.
- Do not enter the water under the influence of alcohol — this is one of the most common causes of death.
- Do not leave children unattended! A child can drown in a matter of seconds — and without a sound.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones!
