Three people were injured as a result of a car collision in the Lviv region.
The traffic accident occurred on June 29, around 13:25, on the ‘Lviv-Sambir-Uzhgorod’ highway in the village of Stavchany, Lviv region.
According to preliminary investigations by law enforcement, there was a collision between a VAZ-2108 car driven by a 39-year-old Lviv resident and a Renault Megane Scenic operated by a 39-year-old resident of Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the drivers of both vehicles and a passenger in the Renault Megane Scenic, a 42-year-old Lviv resident, sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Based on this, investigators from the Lviv region police’s transportation crime department opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 ‘Violation of traffic safety rules’ of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for a punishment of imprisonment from three to eight years with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such deprivation.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
