Court Sentences for Drug Trafficking in Lviv

Three individuals have been convicted in Lviv for organizing a criminal scheme for drug trafficking.

Prosecutors from the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office in Lviv proved the guilt of two Lviv residents and a Kyiv resident. They were sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The convicts were selling PVP, mephedrone, amphetamine, and cocaine from May to July this year. For this purpose, a 40-year-old Kyiv resident sent the substances to Lviv by mail, where his acquaintances distributed them.

“They made ‘drops’ around the city or sent the ‘goods’ by mail,” sources indicate. The convicts purchased batches of drugs via the Internet and Telegram channels. More than 1.5 kg of substances have been documented as sold. During the arrest, the Lviv residents had 20 packets of mephedrone and 4 packets of cocaine.

In total, approximately 800 grams of narcotics and ammunition were seized from the Kyiv resident. They are all charged with illegal acquisition and sale of psychotropic substances (Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and possession of ammunition (Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Until the verdict becomes legally binding, the defendants will remain in custody.
