Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, 5 members of an organized group were charged with illegal felling and transportation of forest products (Part 2, Part 4 of Article 246 of the Criminal Procedure Code).
According to the investigation, an organized group, which included three employees of one of the subsidiaries of the regional communal forestry enterprise “Galsillis” and two local residents, carried out illegal felling of pine trees and their transportation during August of this year.
With such actions, they caused damage to the environment in the amount of more than 250 thousand hryvnias.
The property of the suspects has been seized – with the aim of compensating for the damage caused.
A petition was also submitted to the court to choose preventive measures in the form of bail.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the State Department of the State of Ukraine in the Lviv region based on the materials of the Ukrainian SSR in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
