The traffic accident happened on November 26 around 2:30 p.m. on Honcharska Street in the city of Brody.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Skoda Octavia, a 39-year-old local resident, hit a pedestrian, also a 74-year-old resident of Brody. As a result of the collision, the pensioner received bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of police department No. 1 of the Zolochiv district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
