
In the town of Brody in the Zolochiv district, a road traffic collision occurred in which a four-year-old boy was injured. This was reported by the Lviv region police.
The crash happened on 26 June at around 08:45. According to preliminary police findings, a Peugeot Expert driven by a 73-year-old man collided with a Ford Fiesta driven by a 34-year-old woman.
On impact, the Ford Fiesta was thrown into a Volkswagen E-Golf, which was stationary in the traffic lane. As a result of the collision, the four-year-old passenger of the Ford Fiesta sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital.
Investigators from the Lviv region police department for criminal proceedings involving children have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, the investigation is ongoing.
