According to police, the detainee during the conflict inflicted fatal stab wounds on the victim
On May 26, at 7:10 p.m., the 102 hotline received a message from a Chervonohrad resident that the body of a woman without signs of life had been found in one of the apartments on Lvivska Street.
The investigative task force and employees of other services of the Chervonohrad District Police Department immediately left for the specified address. Police found multiple cuts on the body of a 73-year-old local woman. As doctors later found out, they were the cause of the woman’s death.
The measures taken by the police established that the 27-year-old grandson of the victim was involved in the crime. It is established that a conflict arose between him and his grandmother, during which the attacker stabbed the woman in the head with numerous knives. As a result of the received injuries the pensioner died on a scene.
The malefactor was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a measure of restraint for him.
In fact, investigators of the territorial police unit under the procedural guidance of the Chervonohrad District Prosecutor’s Office opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 115 (Premeditated Murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to fifteen years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
