We remind you that under the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishment is provided for theft, robbery, robbery, extortion and looting.
On January 22, at 3:30 p.m., the police received a report from the administrator of one of the stores on Sokalska Street in Chervonograd about the theft of goods.
An investigative and operative group and employees of other services of the Chervonohrad district police department worked at the scene. As a result of the measures taken, the operatives of the criminal police established that a 47-year-old local resident with a previous conviction was involved in the theft.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The law enforcement officers also discovered and seized physical evidence from him.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police, under the procedural leadership of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor’s Office, opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee.
