In Chervonohrad, the police arrested a criminal who tore off a gold chain from the neck of a local resident and ran away

The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

On September 28, around 1:00 a.m., a 39-year-old resident of Chervonograd contacted the police and reported that an unknown person had beaten and robbed him, tearing off a gold chain from his neck.

An investigative and operative group and other employees of the Chervonohrad district police department worked at the scene of the incident. As the law enforcement officers established, an unknown woman suddenly ran up to the victim, who was on Sheptytskyi Street, beat him, knocked him to the ground and illegally took possession of a gold chain, after which she ran away.

After studying the video surveillance cameras, law enforcement officers identified the perpetrator involved in the robbery, a 32-year-old local resident. Soon, the police established her whereabouts and detained her in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.

The issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
