In the Chervonohrad district, law enforcement officers exposed an attacker on suspicion of organizing the illegal transportation of men abroad

It was established that a 33-year-old resident of the Kherson region, who had previously been convicted several times, undertook to ferry two conscripted citizens across the state border of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, outside the established official checkpoints, during martial law. He valued his “services” at $3,000.

The perpetrator was exposed by operatives of the Migration Police Department in the Lviv Region and the Lviv Border Squad, together with investigators of Police Department No. 2 of the Chervonograd District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Chervonograd District Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspect carefully planned the route and on the night of July 8-9 took the “clients” to the border area in the territory of the Chervonograd district, where they were detained by law enforcement officers.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the intruder about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
