
In the centre of Lviv on Svobody Avenue, a fire broke out in the basement of a three-storey residential building. The Rescue Service “101” was notified of the blaze at 11:40 on 24 July.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, it turned out that the basement premises of the residential building were on fire. Due to heavy smoke, the firefighters worked in special respiratory and eye protection apparatus.
The fire was contained at 11:55, and at 11:57 the blaze was completely extinguished. Nine rescuers and two units of specialised equipment were involved in tackling the fire.
No one was injured as a result of the incident. Specialists are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire.
