Cyclist in Davydiv tried to drown six puppies in a sack — passerby intervened and saved them

In the village of Davydiv near Lviv, a compassionate man prevented a horrifying act by stopping a cyclist who was carrying a sack containing six puppies and a heavy stone — presumably intending to drown them.

The passerby heard whimpering sounds coming from the sack and decided to intervene. Upon inspection, he discovered the puppies crammed inside along with the rock, suggesting the man was on his way to dispose of the animals in a body of water.

Thanks to the timely reaction, all six puppies were rescued. They have since been taken to a Lviv-based animal shelter where they received care and temporary shelter.

Animal rights advocates remind the public to report any cases of cruelty and emphasize the importance of humane solutions to the issue of stray animals — such as sterilization, or contacting shelters and rescue groups.

The incident has been reported to local law enforcement.
