In the city of Drohobych on 22 September a fire broke out in a two-storey residential building. The Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the blaze at 14:08.
By the time firefighters arrived, the roof of the building was on fire over an area of 50 sq. m, and there was a risk that the flames could spread to the entire structure. Due to heavy smoke, the firefighters worked in breathing and eye protection apparatus.
Thanks to their swift actions, the firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading further and saved the residential building. The fire was contained at 16:12 and fully extinguished at 16:59.
Twelve firefighters and three units of specialist equipment were involved in tackling the blaze. Experts are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire.
