
In the settlement of Hnizdychiv in the Stryi district, a fire broke out in a brick outbuilding, during which rescuers prevented two structures from being destroyed by the flames.
The blaze started on 8 October at 21:16. By the time the fire crews arrived, the roof of the building and household items over an area of 90 sq m were on fire. Before the specialists arrived, neighbours had tried to extinguish the flames on their own.
The fire was contained at 21:56 and fully extinguished at 22:36. Thanks to the firefighters’ actions, they managed to prevent two buildings from being destroyed by the fire.
Firefighters from the 16th State Fire and Rescue Unit in the town of Zhydachiv and the local fire brigade of Hnizdychiv were involved in extinguishing the blaze.
Rescuers urge people to call 101 immediately in the event of a fire and not to put themselves in danger by trying to extinguish the flames on their own.
