Fatal road traffic collision occurred on 27 June at around 16:50 on Aviatsiina Street in the town of Horodok, Lviv district.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, the driver of a MAN lorry, a 27-year-old resident of Lviv district, ran over a pedestrian, a 58-year-old local resident.
As a result of the injuries sustained, the man died at the scene.
Investigators from the Department for the Investigation of Transport-Related Offences of the Lviv Region Police have opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road safety regulations or the operation of transport by persons driving vehicles.
The article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, with disqualification from driving for up to three years or without such disqualification. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
