In the village of Hrebeniv in the Stryi district, at around 16:00 on 16 June, a fatal road traffic collision occurred. An Opel Ampera left the carriageway into a ditch and overturned into a river, as a result of which the driver died.
According to preliminary police information, the driver was a 27-year-old resident of Stryi. He lost control, the vehicle left the road and ended up in the water. The man died at the scene from the injuries he sustained.
Investigators from Police Station No.3 of the Stryi District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 2, Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of road traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons driving vehicles). Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the collision.
