The road accident occurred on 9 October, at around 11.00 a.m., on the Lviv-Lutsk motorway in Kamianka-Buzka, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of an Opel Movano, a 21-year-old resident of Volyn Oblast, hit a cyclist, a 70-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the elderly woman was injured and hospitalised.
Investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
