
In the town of Khodoriv in the Stryi district, during the night of 21 June, two unidentified individuals attacked a 51-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region near the railway station. The man has had a disability since childhood, and they robbed him. This was reported by the Stryi District Police Department.
The police received a report on 22 June from a 50-year-old woman from Ivano-Frankivsk region, the victim’s sister. She stated that at around two o’clock in the morning, near the station in Khodoriv, her brother had been beaten and robbed.
According to preliminary police findings, the attackers used physical violence against the man and openly seized his bag, which contained cash, a mobile phone, documents and other personal belongings, after which they fled the scene.
Operatives from the criminal police, investigators and staff from other units of the Stryi District Police Department worked at the scene. Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 186 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. Police officers are carrying out a range of operational and search measures, reviewing CCTV footage and identifying those involved in the crime.
