In Khodoriv in the Stryi district, a 73-year-old woman was injured after being hit by a car. The road traffic accident occurred on 2 July at around 08:40 on Mykhailo Hrushevskyi Street.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, the driver of a Toyota Venza, a 63-year-old resident of Dnipropetrovsk region, ran into a 73-year-old local woman from the district who was crossing the carriageway at an undesignated place.
As a result of the accident, the woman sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital for medical care.
Investigators from Police Station No. 1 of the Stryi District Police Department have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for the same period.
Police officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
