Undeclared iPhones and branded goods worth 350,000 hryvnias seized at Krakivets checkpoint

At the Krakivets border crossing point, border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment, together with customs officers, stopped an attempt to move a consignment of undeclared branded goods and electronics across the state border.

During an inspection of a Mercedes driven by a 35-year-old man, items not listed in the customs declaration were found in the boot. Among them were footwear, accessories, household and computer equipment from various manufacturers, smartphones and other electronic devices.

Law enforcement officers documented, in particular, three new iPhone 17 Pro Max smartphones and three used iPhones of various models. In total, more than 25 undeclared items were counted in the vehicle.

According to the driver, an unknown person approached him at one of the bus stations in Germany and asked him to transport these goods to Chernivtsi, and once there to send them by post to the final recipient.

The approximate value of the seized items was estimated at around 350,000 hryvnias. Customs officers drew up a report on the offence, and all the goods were transferred to a customs warehouse for storage.
