In Lviv, three young men attacked a guest at one of the city’s hotels, beat him and stole his money and belongings. This was reported by the Lviv police.
According to the investigation, on the night of 1 July, in a room of a Lviv hotel, the three suspects, carrying out a premeditated plan, brutally beat the man, breaking his nose, and took his mobile phone.
Subsequently, using physical and psychological violence against the victim, the attackers gained access to his bank account. They withdrew 20,000 hryvnias in cash, and transferred a further 33,500 hryvnias to the account of a female acquaintance. The woman withdrew the funds and handed them over to the perpetrators. The total amount of damage caused is 58,000 hryvnias.
To solve the crime, officers from the criminal police, investigators and staff from other units of Police Department No. 1 of Lviv District Police Directorate No. 1 were involved, under the procedural supervision of the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office.
Law enforcement officers established that those involved in the attack were a 21-year-old Lviv resident, who had previously been repeatedly prosecuted for causing bodily harm, theft and robbery, as well as his accomplices – residents of Lviv aged 17 and 18. At the time the crime was committed, both accomplices were minors.
All three have been notified that they are suspected of committing a criminal offence under Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery). The article provides for a penalty of up to fifteen years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
